Paris: Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Spain forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona in a deal worth around €50 million, with the World Cup-winning forward putting pen to paper on a five-year contract until June 2031.

Torres, who scored the winning goal as Spain beat Argentina in last month's World Cup final, takes the number 9 shirt at the Parc des Princes. The move reunites him with PSG head coach Luis Enrique, who previously managed Torres during his time in charge of the Spanish national team.

The 26-year-old had entered the final year of his Barcelona contract and had made his desire to join PSG increasingly clear following his World Cup heroics. He scored 21 goals in 49 appearances for Barcelona last season, having joined the Catalan club from Manchester City in January 2022, where he won three La Liga titles and a Copa del Rey among seven trophies.

"I'm delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain," Torres said on the club's website, thanking club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, sporting adviser Luis Campos and Luis Enrique for the opportunity.
