Suvendu Adhikari to Offer Pushpanjali at Nabanna on Vishwakarma Puja

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has said he will offer pushpanjali at Nabanna on Vishwakarma Puja and invited Left leaders to join him.

Adhikari made the remarks while inaugurating a Ganesh Puja at Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Ballygunge. He took a swipe at Communist critics of religious celebrations and extended an invitation to them to stand beside him at Nabanna during Vishwakarma Puja.

According to the report, Vishwakarma Puja will be observed on September 18 this year, with the state government declaring the day a public holiday. The annual Vishwakarma Puja is also organised at Nabanna under the Public Works Department.

Invitation to the Left

Adhikari said he would offer prayers at Nabanna and asked Left leaders to join him. His comments came amid a wider political debate over public religious celebrations and the place of festivals such as Ganesh Puja in Bengal.

The chief minister also spoke about preserving Sanatani traditions and cultural symbols, while criticising what he described as anti-national forces.
