Amit Shah Says UCC Will Be Introduced in All 21 NDA-Ruled States Before 2029

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that BJP-led NDA governments in all 21 states under the alliance will introduce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) before 2029.

Speaking in Mumbai on Sunday, Shah linked the proposed rollout to the NDA's broader governance agenda and said the UCC had already been introduced in several states.

Shah also referred to the abolition of triple talaq and said the move had strengthened equal rights for Muslim women. The 2029 Lok Sabha election is the next scheduled general election.

The announcement signals a renewed push for a common framework governing personal laws in states ruled by the NDA. Implementation would depend on the legislative process in the respective states.
